Ahead of the premiere of Wrestling Society X on MTV, WrestleMag.com’s Phil Lowe this afternoon spoke to one of the names who you’ll see on in a WSX this Tuesday night - Kaos!
Wrestling Society X debuts this Tuesday night over there in the States on MTV. For those still unaware of what WSX will be all about, what can viewers expect from the show?
Unlike other televised shows. WSX is a more hard hitting and action packed. Since the show is thirty minutes, you can expect the matches to be faster paced and in your face.
There’s no doubt that there is an audience out there looking for an alternative to WWE and TNA. Can WSX be the “alternative” promotion?
The competition is only going to add to already growing success. I believe audiences are tired of the watered down wrestling already out there on TV. ECWWE is a former shell of once used to be greatness. Fans looking for that alternative need to look no further as WSX will fill the void.
Moving away from WSX for a moment, you’ve spent time recently working in Mexico with RXLL. How did that come about?
Well Kevin K. (Kleinrock) decided to form the Tag Team now known as Los Pochos Guapos for WSX. When Kevin and Vampiro started RXLL in Guadalajara they asked us to be a part of the debut shows. Aaron (Aguilera) and I worked very well together there. That’s where we perfected a lot of the moves we’ll be doing in WSX. That’s also where we came up with the Los Pochos Guapos name.
You did an angle with Vampiro while you were down in Mexico. Vampiro of course is involved with WSX - how’s he been to work with?
Vampiro is an awesome talent, and a great locker room leader. He’s wrestled world wide and is a living legend in Mexico. I just finished a part in his new movie The Dead Sleep Easy (Click here to view trailer)
The impression I got from the build up to this Tuesday’s MTV premiere from the preview show was that Jack Evans is an early contender to be the star of the show for WSX. Is there anybody you would single out as seeing their career skyrocket from the shows over the next few weeks on MTV?
Well, Wrestling Society X is like the Kuma-tay of wrestling. Everybody brings something to the table that cannot be duplicated. Just watch the highlights on www.wsx.mtv.com you can watch LOS POCHOS GUAPOS! (KAOS W/ AARON AGUILERA.) SEE HOW WE DOMINATE THE TAG TEAM DIVISION AMONGST THE BEST TALENT IN PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING TODAY!
As for yourself, you feature in the main event on Tuesday night’s premiere. What were these shows like to be part of?
We filmed the entire season in the span of 10 days at Ren Mar Studios in Hollywood, CA on stage 6 which was set up to look like the WSX “Bunker” style arena. With over 45 matches in total, it was a very grueling and exhausting week-and-a-half. It was great to be part of this ground breaking experience.
Along with Vampiro, you’ve got guys such as Chris Hamrick, New Jack and Sean Waltman who have all been in the business for some time. Did you learn anything from working with these guys?
Yeah…keep an eye on your bag!
Do you think that there’s scope to perhaps take the shows to a bigger stage in terms of attendances, or do you think keeping the shows as “made for MTV” will be enough to ensure more series of the show being made?
I hear there are a lot of deals in the works…stay tuned!
