Last spring when ROH announced two events in England fans responded with excitement and doubt. Many were thrilled with the chance to see authentic ROH shows live. Some doubted that ROH would bring the true ROH experience overseas. Two match of the year candidates plus a title change at "Unified" and a night of great matches at "Anarchy In The UK" proved all the doubters wrong. ROH made the United Kingdom a priority due to the tremendous support of the diehard fans that traveled from all over Europe.
ROH always tries to top itself and now more talent than ever, including several new faces, are coming for ROH's two night stand in Liverpool at the Liverpool Olympia on March 3rd and 4th. Tickets are now on sale for both events at www.ROHwrestling.com by clicking on the banner with the English flag on the left side of the page.
For your convenience ROH will be opening up a box office in England on January 15th. You will be able to call 0151 206 0190 from 2-10pm on Monday thru Friday to get your ROH tickets for both March shows.
These cards already have increased importance as they will be the final two nights of the Fifth Year Festival, which will celebrate ROH's landmark 5th birthday. Right now ROH officials are busy putting together the matches for these events. It might be difficult to announce the entire cards ahead of time since ROH is presenting four big events in the two weeks prior to the return to the UK. It is a safe bet that these events will shape the Liverpool shows. It is an even safer bet that ROH will only bring the best possible matches to the UK. Whether it is title matches, the conclusion of feuds or fresh dream matches, ROH will deliver on March 3rd and 4th.
Regular ring announcer Bobby Cruise will return to the UK. Senior referee Todd Sinclair is slated for his first trip to Europe. You will see an authentic ROH production once again. ROH is currently in negotiations with Dragon Gate, FIP and SHIMMER to bring the best the entire wrestling world has to offer to the UK. Here is the current talent list:
-ROH World Champion Homicide with Julius Smokes: If Homicide is still World Champion he will put the belt on the line on both nights. To show that he is pulling out all the stops, Homicide will bring his cornerman Julius Smokes to the UK for the first time.
-Samoa Joe: If Joe wins the World Title on 1/28 he will defend the belt on these events. This could be the UK's only chance to see the "ROH Legend" and man that put the ROH World Title on the map in a ROH ring. TNA commitments will make it unlikely for Joe to make the international trip in the future. Don't miss your chance to see this ROH hall of famer in a ROH ring.
-Jay & Mark Briscoe: The new GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions stole both events last August. Now they want everyone in the UK to "man up" so they can tear down the house again.
-Delirious: He has risen as one of the top stars in ROH last year. Now Delirious will make his first trip to England for ROH and he is looking to make a big impression.
-Jimmy Jacobs: Another new talent that ROH is bringing for the two night Liverpool stand, he is currently in an intense feud vs. Colt Cabana and BJ Whitmer.
-Nigel McGuinness: He became England's favorite son last August with the gutsy match of the year effort vs. Bryan Danielson in Liverpool. McGuinness was frustrated he couldn't win the big one in his home country last time. He won't let that happen again.
These are only a few of the great talents coming to Liverpool. Keep checking www.ROHwrestling.com and Patrick Lennon’s weekly Fighting Talk column in The Daily Star Newspaper for the latest talent additions and matches. The fans of the UK gave ROH a home last August and we can't thank you enough for that. Now you can expect more talent and bigger matches this March for the historic conclusion of the Fifth Year Festival.
McGuinness is a favorite in the uK for obvious reasons but could he win this year.
