I believe as far back as 2005, after Christian and The Dudley Boyz left, each year after that TNA have gained a former WWE superstar each year.
Star who left in 2002:
BG James
Star who left in 2004:
Kevin Nasg, went into TNA
Stars who left in 2005:
Christian, The Dudleyz, Rhyno, Kip James, later went on into TNA
Star who left in 2006:
Kurt Angle, went into TNA
Star who left in 2007:
Booker T, Matt Morgan, went into TNA
Star who left in 2008:
Mick Foley who is set to go to TNA, Daivari who made his debut.
Is this to much of a pattern?
Each year WWE has lost a top star to TNA. On 3 occasions WWE has lost more than one. Is it some sort of curse on WWE? I may have missed some out so please feel free to mention any I may have missed.
In my opinion, its a very bad move for TNA, as all they seem to be doing is focusing on gaining older talent, then giving them a push towards the title and the current stars who have been there since day one aren't getting much of a shot.
Whats your view on this?
In WWE its different, I mean CM Punk whos been with the company since 2006 has only recently just received his first major title in one of the major brands. TNA must be kicking themselves because they lost a top star.
However I can think of 2 former TNA stars who tried to make it big in WWE and didn't get there, Monty Brown and Chris Harris. I'm not sure what had happened to Monty Brown he got released but months prior to that he wasn't seen. And Chris Harris was suffering from ring rust. When R-Truth makes his re-debut in the WWE, he'll have a better chance as he has worked dark matches.
