I just played the new Smackdown vs. Raw game for the PS2 and here are my thoughts.
Gameplay-This new grappling system is actually very hard to learn. It is very confusing and takes a long time to get use to seeing how it makes me miss last years version. The stamina button is now the circle button. I actually think that is should still be the select button because the stamina thing is stupid and waste of time. It should not be on the games. Punch and kick is now square and x is for leaving the ring. That is an improvement to me. The fighting through the crowd thing is very deceiving. Before you play it you will probaly think that you will actually get to fight in the crowd. You don't. It is just a big open area within the crowd with a couple of weapons. Thats it. The fans are just surrounding you. You cant really go throughtout the arena like some thought. The weapons under the ring is the same as last year. Very dissapointing. When do stars ever pull chairs from under the ring. Stupid! The only new match type is money in the bank. They got rid of the fantasy thing all together. Overall the gameplay is ok. Should have improved more.
GM mode- I hate the gm mode this year. Why? Because now you only can have rivalrys with Dirty and Clean stars. That is retarded. Also they added velocity and heat which adds 3 more matches to the six which makes 9. But in heat+velocity you can not have any specialty matches. But you only get 20 stars to do 9 matches. That is pretty stupid if you ask me. Also I dont like how you cant see the wrestlers faces when yo pick them for matches. I thought that was stupid also but that is just me. Also the lowest popular wrestlers are in like the 50s other than the 20s as last year so that is a big imrovement because last year it was impossibel to get Spike Dudleys poularity up so now it aint that hard. Other than that the GM mode has improved .
Create mode- So far ive only done create an entrance but that has downgraded kinda. In the background you see the wrestlers entrance with the fireworks noise which is annoying. Watching the videos and playing the songs is annoying cuz it takes too long.
Other-Other than that the game is ok. The gfx have improved greatly but its not as good as I thought i would be. But I have not played it much so far so yeah.

On the main menu of the game select the "cheats" option then hold down L2 and R2 then enter the code

Reader Russell recently had purchased the SmackDown! Vs. RAW 2007 game on the exact release date. After purchasing that game he noted several glitches in the game. Some of those glitches include the game saying "Stone Cold Stunner" when you hit someone with a chair. When Lashley performs his finisher, the game calls it a "Dead Level" which is Kid Kash's finisher name. Also, in the Create-A-Wrestler area, the t-shirt in the Men's Clothes section, it s 1/31. You can't even change the color to anything solid. All you get is a soft tint/shade and thatโs with all the XY color levels and shade down to the "darkest" and we get a bright white shirt.

A few days ago, I posted an article on how a wrestling fan that had purchased the recently released SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 game on Playstation 2. After he purchased it and got home he found he was very upset with the product that he had purchased due to some minor glitches in the game.
However, he is not the only consumer that had contacted me. Bill Taylor, recently discovered a few more glitches to the Playstation 2 version. In the email it stated that when Torrie Wilson attempts a face buster finisher, the moved is called "The Pedigree" and when you execute Triple Hโs Pedigree, theyโd call that Sweet Chin Music.
It doesnโt stop there with the glitches in the game. Not only do they get the moves incorrect, but Bill went on to explain how the commentators talk about wrestlers that arenโt even in the matches. Also I guess if youโre participating in a ladder match, sometimes you can magically appear on the ladder if someone else is on it.
Another email I received was from a buyer who purchased the game on the Xbox 360 version. He told me that he has not seen any glitches in the game that were reported and its 100% perfect.
I donโt know whatโs going on here, but hopefully THQ resolves this issue.

For Controls, you can cahnge them. Their are 4 different kind of controls. Put the controls to the fourth set. They are very similar their.
I agree with the rivalries with clean and dirty guys. The heat and velocity are optional.
The graphics for the game have improved greatly no doubt.

In the new Smackdown vs Raw 2007 Video Game there is an interesting commentary track between King and Jr. JR says that Kurt Angle is a world class athlete who has competed on all brands of the WWE. King Comments on saying that's like claiming he is the World's Tallest Midget. JR responds by saying he did win an Olympic Gold Medal. King's Response was "Yeah he also went from Raw to Smackdown to ECW. He keeps running to the side with the lightest competition. In my opinion he is running scared" Thought that was interesting seeing this was pre-TNA jump.

xbox version does have glitches in it.
mostly on the announcing.
for example, i think it is a good feature to have tony chimmel standing in the ring while you wrestler is being introduced, but it seems strange that its LILLIAN GARCIA who announces them.
also when you pick a tag team, only one wrestler is announced eg, when i picked dx, they weren't announced as dx they were announced as Triple h, which i felt bad for shawn afterwards.
i just wanted to know if they were any more secrets, like your jeff hardy tips, but for xbox version?

i cant beat the great khali its not fair man are you on about just beating him normally or the superstar challenge where you have to beat him using Mickie James? Now that was HARD. I had to change all of mickies moves to painful no pick-up moves. |

Sure you can beat The Great & Boring Khali, I have completed all Superstar Challenge with some strategies, also I almost finished the Legends challenge, only needed one challenge to beat, it's the Foley challenged, I have to be Dude Love going against Cacktus Jack, Mankind & Mick. DAMN! Cannot beat the three of them up to now!

Sure you can beat The Great & Boring Khali, I have completed all Superstar Challenge with some strategies, also I almost finished the Legends challenge, only needed one challenge to beat, it's the Foley challenged, I have to be Dude Love going against Cacktus Jack, Mankind & Mick. DAMN! Cannot beat the three of them up to now! best way to do it is by countout. the hardest challenge is beating bothers of destruction with the mexicools i think, i managed it after a few tries beating them with give up moves |

I can't beat the 3 Foleys by count out, because there is no count out in the 4 Foleys game!
I had my head & torso in red & all 3 of them got their heads in red & torsos in orange!
But still they get the best of my strategies!

you missed out the part about not being allowed outside of the ring. i did it only by changing all of mickies moves to head hurters and submissions than finished him with a tajiri buzzsaw kick, it was one of the most impossible things i ever accomplished. it took me about 15 tries. and all you get is a meaningless "congratulations", no unlocked characters, no special cheats, theres no point spending so much time even trying to beat it. good luck  |
