An insider from MTV is claiming that the decision has been made by the network, to cancel the Wrestling Society X series, according to Dave Scherer. The move is believed to have been made earlier today, and was done due to the drop in ratings since its first week.
It is unknown if the six remaining episodes will air on MTV or not. Scherer adds that it's already been stated that the series will be pulled immediately.
Though apparently pulled by MTV, Big Vision Entertainment retains the rights to the promotion, so it is possible that WSX could move the series to a different network or release DVDs, if they decide to continue.
As this news comes from a source from MTV, it is important to remember that at this moment, the network has not made any public indications that WSX is indeed canceled. The series is still listed on the MTV website to air this Tuesday at 10:30PM (Eastern), while clips of WSXtra are still posted as well.
god i hope this isn't true

Nope actually Big Vision Entertainment can just sign on with another network.
Big Vision CEO Houston Curtis is expected to issue an official statement about the future of the Wrestling Society X project and its status with MTV either today or by tomorrow. As noted earlier, sources have stated that Big Vision would retain all rights to WSX and be able to shop the project to a new TV network if they were interested in doing so.

its already pretty popular, it has started off bigger and better than tna did so it would make sense for another network to pick it up soon while people are still talking about it. from what i know about it, it still has potential grow into a serious competitor to tna if not wwe. Id like to see it sometime, on twc or wherever.

Where did you hear that it will be a competitor. It only gets half the rating of TNA and ECW back in the day did much better. Also if you have ever watched WSX you will know its not very good.

yeah now. but look at how its started, some good stars a large fanbase, and a good tv deal. people are taking about it, especially after the fireball incident and thats after only 5 or 6 episodes. im not saying its anywhere near as good as tna yet, but if it gets picked up by another station, then i believe it could grow into something great.
