RVD has turned down what is apparently WWE's final offer and unless things change he will be gone when his contract runs out. The exact date of his contract expiring is not known but it is said to be around the early part of Summer. RVD has intrest in TNA because it would also allow him to tour Japan. Plus they wouldn't restrict his wrestling style and he would be given a much lighter schedule. There is talk of replacing RVD with a pretty big name star from one of the other two brands if he does indeed leave. Another thing him leaving will affect is Sabu. Most feel that Sabu has been on thin ice for a while now and that he is only being kept around because of Van Dam.
Sandman who has been very well behaved and quiet since coming to the WWE is also on thin ice. If RVD and Sabu are gone come summer then Sandman will most likely be released as well.
On a scale of 1-100 the average critic rating for "The Condemned" is an 18.
The New Breed storyline has not played out the way Dusty Rhodes wrote it. The pace was supposed to be much slower with Punk not turning on Burke for quite a while.
There is a much more conservative mindset about the product then there has been in a long time. The feeling is that with all the positive press as of late they don't want to ruin that by doing anything distasteful. They are also trying out a more basic style product that is mostly wrestling based but the feeling backstage is that it won't last forever.
Vince McMahon is now of the opinion that wrestling TV shows are better suited for a 90 minute format rather than 2 hours. USA and CW have no plans to change and getting a 90 minute show on TV is hard since most networks like to run 1 and 2 hour programs.
Vickie Guerrero will be starting soon as the Co-GM of Smackdown. Everyone backstage seems to love Vickie because they not only loved and respected Eddie but because she is super nice. However most of those same people see little to no talent in her.
Mick Foley may not be starting a new feud any time soon. He is going to work on a new novel about a black women growing up in the 50's and filming a reality show pilot for A&E.
The refs have been told as of late to officiate the matches as if they are a shoot do to recent botches where wrestlers would accidentally kick out or forget to kick out of a pinfall. The main ones that led to this were when Vince pinned Lashley and he kicked out when he wasn't supposed to and the mess up where Mickie James won the Womens Title in Europe when she wasn't booked to.
