This week for that’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’ll be telling you who I think the winners will be at No Way Out.
The Finlay/Boogeyman match should be an entertaining match, but I don’t expect it to be a 30 minute classic. Finlay has a lot of technical skill and the Finlay/Benoit match a few weeks ago on smack down proved there is still some good technical wrestling on WWE TV. The Boogeyman is entertaining but he doesn’t have wrestling ability. He has a cool entrance, but other than that, what can he do? How many good Boogeyman matches can you think of? If you can think of a match that the Boogeyman showed ANY wrestling ability, e-mail me and let me know. I’ll pick the Boogeyman to win, but that is just a guess and it’s possible Finlay could win the match.
The WWE tag title match could be an okay match, but Deuce and Domino aren’t that impressive of a tag team. Brian Kendrick and Paul London have been good tag team champions and I think it would be a good decision if they retain the titles. The match was originally scheduled to be a four way ladder match with London and Kendrick defending against the Hardys, MNM, and Regal and Taylor. I think it could have been match of the night and it doesn’t really make sense that WWE changed the match because isn’t the WWE trying to make a PPV worth $40 it costs to watch the PPV? I’ll pick London and Kendrick to win the match and it would be cool to see them defend the titles in a ladder match at Wrestlemania.
The ECW title match should be an entertaining match, but it’s obvious that Lashley is going to retain the title. It seems like the WWE is trying to continually push Lashley as the next major star, but its just adding to the ECW brand’s laundry list of problems. Lashley doesn’t have the charisma, the in-ring ability, or the mic skills to be a main event star. Lashley does have potential but its clear that he is being pushed way too early as a main event star. Lashley is still not an established star with the name value or star power to main event a PPV. I’ve set it before, and I’ll say it again, Mr. Kennedy has all the potential and skill to be a major star in the future. He has the in-ring ability, the mic skills, and charisma needed to reach the main event level, but the only thing Mr. Kennedy is lacking is a major push. Kennedy had a short run as US champion and then was involved in a title feud with Batista, but he didn’t win the title. I don’t think it makes sense to have Kennedy lose in another title opportunity and possibly make him look weak when he has the potential to be a main event star. I’ll pick Lashley to win the match because it’s predictable, but if Kennedy wins I would expect the ECW ratings to improve.
The Kane/Booker T match will probably be a terrible match and I don’t expect much from it. The King Booker character has become entirely stale, and there doesn’t seem to be much of a point to the character when Booker isn’t involved in the title picture. Kane didn’t get a solid title run when he won the title and I think if he was given a solid push, he could be a good world champion. I’ll pick Kane but that’s more of just a guess because its possible that Kane could win the match.
The main event shows that smack down is lacking main event star power because its obvious that the Raw stars were added to the show, to sell more PPV’s. It’s an interesting match in that the challengers and champions are on the same team, but it doesn’t seem like it’s a must see because there is not much at stake in the match. The titles aren’t on the line and the main events for Wrestlemania have already been announced. I’ll pick Batista and Undertaker to win the match because I expect either Cena or Michaels to cost their team the match helping to build the feud for Wrestlemania.
Until next week
