A new wrestler by the name of George Murdoch debuted on the road at the 12/26 SmackDown house show in Hershey, PA. He is 6-8, 375 pounds and he hasn't even debuted on Deep South Wrestling's television show yet. He uses the name G. Rilla down in DSW and he is green to say the least. He started wrestling back in August. This was described as another Johnny Ace call to get him on to house shows due to the company's belief that they need to recruit physical freaks, and then teach them to be performers as opposed to recruiting performers. Murdoch was working as a bouncer at a night club in Los Angeles some time back. Tommy Dreamer saw him and told him that with his size, he should enroll in the UPW school for a few months and then send WWE a tape. Murdoch told Dreamer that he wasn't really interested, but Dreamer asked for his phone number anyways. Johnny Ace then called him and he was signed almost immediately. Murdoch is the 32nd person to be signed by the WWE that has either been trained or discovered by Rick Bassman's UPW promotion in California.
Even though WWE had a show at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. just three weeks ago, another show has already been booked for the venue in March. According to WWE.com, a RAW brand show will take place in D.C. either on Sunday, March 11th or Monday, March 12th. On the live events page, it says that the show will be on 3/11, in which case it would be a house show. However, the actual page for the show says that the event will be held on 3/12, which would be a RAW taping. Hopefully WWE fixes this error soon to clear up the confusion. Whatever the case may be, tickets for the event go on sale on Saturday, February 10 at 10am.
