The in-ring promo Bobby Lashley did on the 12/19 ECW show, which did him no favors, is another example of rushing talent. Lashley, from a promo standpoint, is nowhere close to being ready for a main event spot. One person in the middle of all this said, "Bobby is another casualty of the preposterous expectations that creative has in terms of workers. He doesn't have experience or confidence in his own promos yet, yet he's in the top slot. Way too premature. Then again, most decisions these days are becoming increasingly impulsive." I disagree that they are rushing talent with Lashley has the ECW world champion. They have practically turned ECW into a international televised OVW. Giving Lashley a developmental world championship is what they need to do. I say they are putting Lashley right where he needs to be. Lashley is a total package, I mean, his ring skills are very great but his mic skills are far from. The guy can hardly cut a promo or even stand a couple secinds on the mic. This is why he has the "hard hitten soft spoken" gimmick, and that has done really well in shading his weaknesses but when you reach the highcard position, you can't avoid cutting promos becuase this is where you will need this mic skills. You can be great at wrestling but your mic skills could keep you at the mid card level. Lashley has to tone up on his mic skills if he ever wants to be a Smackdown or Raw world champion. The ECW world title might be a stepping stone on the way their.
